University of the People- World’s first tuition free online university #open #access #education

Thanks to my delicious network for this link. Appeals to me, and Yale U association gives it credibility. Not sure it is the “world’s first”, unless tuition-free means no teaching 😉 Of course this means no fees. It this a blow back against U of Phoenix? I can see how to become a student. How to become a teacher/researcher is not so clear. Or, is it all the same thing? There is a hierarchy: provost and heads of departments (or whatever they are called). Will there be the full apparatus of QA?

I wish them well unless future evidence undercuts the apparent ethos.
