Making models

Phil asked me, as some have done before, what do I want to do with my poetry. Besides bring in a new age of peace and prosperity with compassion for all life, of course. And, yes, I do want that, but I do two things.

  1. I make models of the world as it is, and I aspire for my models to be accurate. Poems may be seen as ships in bottles or bubble trails of decaying particles representing something in the moment as well as something timeless and, to the best of my ability, true.
  2. I rant broadsides at all around that appears false, cruel, exploitative and unjust.

I wish to do one more thing, and occasionally, achieve it: slip into a wave of pleasure and joy at the wonder of our world at all.
